In this StarGazing section you'll find information about where, when and how to view the cosmos near and far from the second darkest skies in the nation. Clear dark skies and few interfering man-made lights make Joshua Tree and surrounding communities one of the best places in the USA for viewing the uncountable wonders "out there."

Here we'll feature local and visiting astronomy enthusiasts, clubs and well known organizations who come to this area year-round to set up both elaborate and simple galaxy viewing equipment. Computer controlled telescopes and photographic equipment -- even automatic video feed into projectors that display what the telescope is looking at onto very large screens where visitors and enthusiasts alike can all see what's going on far beyond our tiny planet called Earth.

This astro feature is where you'll be able to access schedules, calendars, local weather, news and events from various astronomers, clubs, organizations and similar resources found elsewhere on the Internet. You'll also see photographs of club activities and past events.

Navigating this section on StarGazing is quite simple. To view pages on specific features, clubs or groups just click on the appropriate button shown below. That will get you to the information or photos you're interested in. Clicking on famous HUBBLE, NASA, JPL and others will take you directly to their web site.

HINT:
To keep your place "here at Joshua Tree Star" hold down your "SHIFT" key, then click on the desired BUTTON. A new browser window will open at the site you chose. When you're finished and want to return "here", just close the "other" site browser window.

Some Clubs and Organizations may have their own "Pages" here on our web site featuring their "Events" both past and future. In that case, getting back to "this" page is accomplished by clicking on the StarGazing button.
